Obama Adopts Occupy’s Message

In yet another nod to the Occupy Movement President Obama in his most recent speech in Osawatomie, Kansas has decided to make income inequality, the shrinking middle class and education priority issues during his reelection campaign.

Obama champions income inequality and some other OWS concerns

The President points out that incomes of the top 1 percent, have more than doubled in the last decade while the average income has fallen by 6 percent.

Obama said the rich needed to pay higher taxes, and that financial institutions needed to be more closely regulated. He also wanted to make education a national mission, which is just the opposite of the Republican presidential contenders that wish cut, gut and/or eliminate the Department of Education completely.

The Occupy Movement is no doubt feeling a little better right now even as several of their larger Occupations are being systematically closed down by local authorities for breaking local park laws but at least some of their issues are now being championed by President Obama for his reelection campaign and Vermont’s State Senator Bernie Sanders and the city of Los Angeles both separately propose a Constitutional Amendment to eliminate corporate personhood and try and get corporate money out of politics.  See for information see:  Occupy Movement Gets Constitutional Amendment Wish

Sorry but I can’t trust him either. He took a large amount of money from Wall St. and his 1st term track record is pretty poor if you are a progressive.
